MacBeth - Costume Design
MacBeth is often referred to as a cursed show, and this production proved it absolutely true. We replaced our director with only a few weeks to go, had fires throughout our run, all the white shirts turned pink in the wash the morning of opening, and the venue closed unexpectedly at the end of the run. Still, the production was successful - set in the 1930s and tapping into the aesthetic of Universal Horror movies, Hollywood glamor, and emphasizing the military nature of the show, we were, indeed, a little all over the place. The monochromatic color palette was contrasted in the extreme by the witches who lived in a world outside the play, outside time.
